ABOUT US

Our story

“Our aim is to challenge young people to use their gifts, believe in their abilities, take control of their lives and to become successful entrepreneurs.

Gifted Enterprise

Gifted Enterprise CIC aims to equip young people with the necessary tools and practical experience to develop their skills, become successful entrepreneurs, employees and confident public speakers. We help young people to become more confident and gain essential skills. We believe that everyone has a gift and our mission is to bring those gifts to the forefront.

We currently work predominantly with young people age 8 to 24. Our programmes are designed to help young people to become their best, increase in confidence and to positively impact their community. Our programmes include:

  • Skills development workshops
  • Annual Art Exhibition Show – GIFTED STARS
  • 3-day Enterprise and Life Skills Training – You Are Gifted
  • Public Speaking and Debating Skills Workshop
  • Confidence and Resilience Workshops
  • On-going mentorship and support

Gifted Enterprise CIC has trained over 2000 young people in Enterprise, Life Skills, Public Speaking and Debating Skills techniques. In addition, we have impacted the lives of over 5000 young people in the delivery of training across Croydon in partnership with other youth organisations including the Palace for Life Foundation, Secondary Schools and Croydon Council. When surveyed, 90% of the young people trained by Gifted Enterprise said they would recommend the training to their friends and we therefore have a large number of young people referred to us by other young people, which we deem to be a large indicator of our success.

Gifted Enterprise CIC was established in 2015 by Nadia McInnis who is supported by a team of dedicated support workers and trainers. Our team are all highly qualified and passionate about young people and helping them achieve better outcomes in their lives. We understand young people often have challenging and complex needs and our team are willing to do their best to help young people become successful.

Nadia founded Gifted Enterprise after the murder of her two brothers and nephew. She wants something positive to come out of her loss and to help young people make more positive life choices and provide them with alternative and more positive options. Nadia is passionate about helping young people to achieve their full potential and surrounds herself with a team who share these values and goals.

We very proud of our achievements to date and the recognition we have achieved for our work. We were selected to train Croydon’s candidates for Young Mayor in public speaking and were recommended by young people in South Northwood to deliver Enterprise and Speaking Skills. To date we have organised and delivered three major talent shows in Croydon which gave young people the opportunity to showcase their talents in a healthy competitive environment. The winner is awarded £500 and the event include young entrepreneurs delivering motivational talks to other young people to inspire them to take positive action.

Gifted Enterprise works in South Norwood, New Addington, Thornton Heath and Coulsdon.

Gifted Enterprise has always been about serving young people in their local community. We create a coaching environment where young people can engage in a wide range of activities, which are used to build their self-esteem and to develop problem solving, communication, team working and leadership. The activities we use are Performing Arts (dance, music, drama), Enterprise, Life Skills (entrepreneurial skills, Public Speaking, career support) and 1:1 Mentoring.

We meet young people with limitless amounts of potential, talent and ability and we help them to unlock it. Through our relational approach to work, the result has been a generation of young adults willing and excited to reinvest in other young people.
